As Hollywood continues to mine its archives for hits to resuscitate, Paramount is breathing new life into its 1997 John Travolta–Nicolas Cage identity-switcheroo thriller “Face/Off.”
Deadline reports that “22 Jump Street” screenwriter Oren Uziel will write an update of the film — to be produced by Neal Moritz with David Permut as executive producer.
Director John Woo’s campy original was a box-office hit, with Travolta as a cop who winds up in a facial-transplant experiment with the evildoer who killed his kid.
Paramount is also currently making a “Top Gun” sequel with Tom Cruise.
