Third man arrested in connection to Mac Miller’s death

A third person has been arrested in connection to the death of Mac Miller.

Stephen “Stevie” Walter was arrested Monday in Los Angeles, according to TMZ, after it was determined that fellow suspect Cameron James Pettit contacted him asking for 10 blue Percocet pills on the rapper’s behalf.

Pettit was the first suspect arrested in connection to Miller’s 2018 passing earlier this month.

Police told the outlet that Pettit reached out to Walter for the pills after discussing the details with Miller. Walter then sent a runner to transport the pills to Pettit, who passed them on to the rapper around 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 5, 2018. The “Knock Knock” rapper died two days later after taking counterfeit oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl. He was 26.

Walter was charged with conspiracy and attempt to distribute a controlled substance, Rolling Stone reports.

Authorities believe the runner was Ryan Reavis, the second man implicated in Mac’s death. Reavis was taken into custody after investigators searched his Lake Havasu City home and found a doctor’s prescription pad, unspecified prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia and a “usable” amount of marijuana.

In the wake of Pettit’s arrest, agency officials warned, “Let our message be clear, if you peddle illegal drugs and kill someone, the DEA will be the voice of the victim … We will not rest until you face the justice system.”
