Luke Perry Recovering In Hospital After Suffering Massive Stroke

Prayer’s up! Luke Perry suffered a massive stroke at his home in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood of Los Angeles on Wednesday, February 27, Us Weekly confirms.

“Mr. Perry is currently under observation at the hospital,” his rep tells Us.

A spokesman from the Los Angeles Fire Department confirms to Us that paramedics responded to the 52-year-old actor’s residence at approximately 9:40 a.m. after receiving a 911 call about someone suffering a stroke. The person, whom the LAFD did not publicly identify, was transported in an ambulance to a nearby hospital, and his condition remains unclear.

Fox announced plans for a six-episode revival of “Beverly Hills, 90210” the same day that Perry suffered from his stroke. The show made Perry famous for his role as Dylan McKay during its 10 seasons on air, however he was not able to sign on officially for the reboot because he’s a regular on “Riverdale.” Six original cast members have been confirmed to return with the show’s revival, Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling.

Mother Of Gemmel Moore Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit Against Ed Buck

The mother of a man who mysteriously died in a Democratic donor’s apartment is suing.

As previously reported Gemmel Moore was found dead in the apartment of Ed Buck back in July 2017 and just 18 months later, a second black man was found dead in Buck’s apartment, this time 55-year-old Timothy Jean.

Now Gemmel Moore’s mother Latisha Nixon is filing a wrongful-death lawsuit against Buck claiming that he was a drug dealer who injected her 26-year-old son with a fatal dose of crystal methamphetamine.

The lawsuit also accuses Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. Jackie Lacey and Deputy Dist. Atty. Craig Hum of failing to prosecute Buck, 64, because he is white, reports The L.A. Times.

Lacey and Hum’s “unconstitutional failure to act is reprehensible,” and their “misapplication of criminal justice has consistently failed the black community,” Hussain Turk, an attorney for Nixon, said in a statement.

“If the dead body of a blond-haired, blue-eyed white man was found in the home of an older black man, he’d be lucky to even make it to the police station alive,” Turk said.

Nixon is also alleging that Buck preys on gay black men for sex and has them ingest illicit drugs like crystal methamphetamine at his home.

In the lawsuit viewed by the L.A. Times, Nixon says there are several other gay black men who claim that Buck too gave them crystal meth.

“Each of these young black men, many of whom were strangers to one another, independently described … being forcibly injected with crystal methamphetamine by Mr. Buck, whom they alleged had a predatory and injurious system of soliciting black men and watching them cling to life while battling symptoms of methamphetamine toxicity,” the lawsuit says.

In case you’re curious as to why Ed Buck’s still free, prosecutors declined to file charges against him for Moore’s death because they had “insufficient admissible evidence.”

SMH…hopefully, Ms. Nixon gets some justice for her son, it’s pretty clear that something’s not quite right here.

Tristan Thompson Not Letting Jordyn Woods Controversy Slow Him Down

While the Kardashians are going cray in Calabasas and ready to war with poor Jordyn Woods, Tristan Thompson is back to business as usual — bagging new baddies and whatnot on the other side of the country.

One of our favorite photo agencies, SplashNews caught photos of Tristan out in NYC at dinner at the Italian restaurant Carbone. The notes on the photos reveal that Tristan arrived at the restaurant with one of his teammates in a tinted black SUV. A brunette model arrived outside the restaurant five minutes later and waited patiently until Tristan ducked his head out of the door and brought her inside — where they drank red wine and ate pasta for nearly four hours. The model exited the restaurant first, walking down the block first, while Tristan left approximately three minutes later, sprinting from the kitchen door into an Uber back to his hotel where the model was reportedly waiting for him in the lobby…

WHOA. Just another Wednesday for Tristan though riiiiiight?

TMZ also reported about the date, going so far as to match his Instagram story — where he posted his plate of pasta only to reveal a woman holding a glass in the background seated at his table. The tabloid noted that the nail color was a match with the woman who was photographed leaving the restaurant alone.

At this point even the blind should be able to see that Khloé’s baby daddy is for EVERYBODY. Obviously. Is it hypocritical to be mad at Jordyn for being disloyal when Tristan is clearly only loyal to himself?!

What’s next? A weekly series!

Proving once again that “the drive-in will never die,” Joe Bob Briggs is back with an all-new “The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs” series exclusively on Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thrillers, and the supernatural. The nine-episode original series will consist of weekly double features streaming live every Friday night at 9:00 p.m ET/ 6:00 p.m. PT, beginning March 29 and concluding on Friday, May 24, Memorial Day Weekend. Episodes will also be made available on demand at a later time.

The Last Drive-In series marks Briggs’ return to weekly on-screen appearances for the first time since ending his run on TNT’s MonsterVision in 2000.

“We’ve had The Last Drive-In 24-hour marathon, The Last Drive-In Thanksgiving marathon, and The Last Drive-In Christmas marathon, but the Shudder audience kept asking for some kind of programming that didn’t require sleep deprivation and controlled substances,” said Briggs. “The double features we chose for the weekly series range over five decades and include everything from classics to obscurities to foreign cult offerings, with a handful of guests who have agreed to play around with us in our Texas trailer park. I don’t want to say we got carried away with the possibilities here, but we kind of got carried away with the possibilities here.”

Coming off an Oscar win for Green Book this past Sunday night as well as the third season of “True Detective,” Mahershala Ali will next be seen in Entertainment One’s sci-fi film Sovereign, penned by A Quiet Place scribes Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. Marc Munden (Utopia) will direct the film, being co-produced by 21 Laps Entertainment (“Stranger Things”).

“Details about the plot are being kept under wraps,” Deadline notes.

“We have long loved this project and have been patiently waiting until we found the right leading actor, which we no doubt have found in the incredibly talented Mahershala Ali,” said Nick Meyer, eOne’s President of Film. “The cast is clearly shaping up well and is backed by a creative team with a proven track record and the ability to tell a story that will resonate with audiences around the world.”

“Much like our film Arrival, this project is for us a dream pairing of an inspired screenplay with a truly visionary director. Marc Munden has been an exceptional collaborator in shaping this singular story into one that jumps off the page and with the phenomenally talented Mahershala Ali at the heart of this film, we feel we now have the dream creative partners to tell a story that audiences won’t forget,” said 21 Laps’ Shawn Levy, Dan Levine and Dan Cohen.

Scott Gimple is the man in charge of the extended “The Walking Dead” universe, which thus far includes the main series and spinoff “Fear the Walking Dead.” As we were told last year, a series of TV movies are currently in the works, and AMC has revealed this week that a third television series is also being developed.

“That is in active development,” Ed Carroll, chief operating officer, AMC Networks told The Wrap. “We’re not yet at a stage where we’ll be announcing its plans to premiere. But we have hired creative people that have pitched story outlines. We feel very good about the development of that series.”

Recently, the main series hit an all-time ratings low, but it looks like AMC hasn’t lost any faith in the franchise. After all, it still remains the top drama on cable right now.

Gary Clark Jr. Performs For The Tonight Show Audience

Gary Clark Jr. stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night for a performance of his song, “What About Us.”

This track highlights the artist’s recently released project, This Land, which also includes the title track Clark described to Rolling Stone as “the most important song” he’s ever written, because, “it’s about being black in America, in the South.”
