Consciousness Travels to a New Dimension in “The OA: Part II”! [Trailer]
No one survives alone.
The filmmakers behind Sound of My Voice and The East are back with a second season of “The OA”, arriving on Netflix March 22, 2019.
I’m a massive fan of both aforementioned films, directed by Zal Batmanglij which he co-wrote with leading actress Brit Marling (Another Earth). The duo are absolute dynamite when working together and deliver mind-bending genre thrillers that are timeless.
Now, the duo are back with “The OA: Part II”, which continues the story following a massive cliffhanger back in 2016.
“The OA” began with a missing blind girl in her twenties, Prairie Johnson (Brit Marling), who comes home to the community she grew up in with her sight restored. Some hail her a miracle, others a dangerous mystery, but Prairie won’t talk about her seven years missing with the FBI or her parents.
The “mind-bending” story returns with “The OA Part II”, which follows OA as she navigates a new dimension, one in which she had a completely different life as a Russian heiress, and one in which she once again finds herself as Hap’s captive. Part II introduces Karim Washington, a private detective tasked with finding a missing teen, Michelle Vu. His path crosses with OA, as they try to solve the mystery of Michelle’s whereabouts and a house on Nob Hill connected to the disappearance of several teenagers. Meanwhile, back in the first dimension, BBA, Angie and the boys find themselves on a journey to understand the truth behind OA’s story and the incredible realities she described.
