Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman‘s heart really is broken, he revealed — three months after his wife Beth Chapman died.

Chapman, 66, told Dr. Mehmet Oz that he is suffering from a “life-threatening” pulmonary embolism — a blood clot from the heart to the lungs —  according to a newly released clip of an interview expected to air next week on “The Dr. Oz Show.”

“The blood clot is not a normal thing, but it happens a lot,” Chapman said, noting that he’s trying to stay optimistic about the diagnosis. “Once this goes away, I am 100 percent . . . I’m encouraged by it.”

The announcement comes two weeks after Chapman was hospitalized for chest pains — from “a broken heart,” he said at the time. 

“You’re a ticking time bomb,” Oz told Chapman at his home in Denver. “You’re not going to be here with the heart the way it is right now.”

The “Dog’s Most Wanted” star has been struggling to maintain his fragile health since his wife died of cancer in June at age 51, Oz told People magazine. 

Chapman is “denying care that he knew would be life-saving,” Oz said.

“Beth had been his north star,” the TV MD told People. “Losing her took away his biggest support.

The clip shows Oz lecturing the doctor-adverse Chapman to take the blockage more seriously.

“I said, ‘What would Beth do?’ . . . I don’t think she’d be happy with what you’re doing. You’re throwing away your life, you’re throwing away your ability to parent your kids.”

But the Dog said he’s adopted a new health routine — a nutritious diet, blood-thinners and fewer cigarettes — after “thinking, I don’t want to have to go through this again.”

“I don’t want to die right now,” Chapman said. “I really didn’t care for awhile if something would happen. I do care now.”
