Eyes Wide Shut is returning to cinemas for its 20th anniversary
On 7 March, 1999, cinema world lost one of its true visionaries. Now, a full two decades on from his untimely death, audiences are being given the opportunity to revisit the film that cemented Stanley Kubrick’s legacy on the big screen.
Eyes Wide Shut, about a New York City doctor (Tom Cruise) who discovers a secret society of costumed hedonists after his wife (Nicole Kidman) reveals her sexual fantasies to him, will screen in select UK cinemas from 29 November as part of a collaboration between Park Circus and Warner Bros.
The release is being accompanied by a new short film from director Matt Wells, Never Just a Dream: Stanley Kubrick and ‘Eyes Wide Shut’, which offers a fascinating reappraisal of the final chapter of Kubrick’s career.
