These celebrities have been arrested the most

Celebrities: They’re just like us! Except they seem to get in trouble a whole lot more.

Whether it’s drugs, theft, burglary, assault or even murder, many A-listers are no strangers to the jailhouse — but none more than actor Martin Sheen, 79, according to a survey by ToppCasinoBonus.

The gambling website compiled a list of the stars with the longest rap sheets and found that the veteran “West Wing” and “Apocalypse Now” actor has racked up no fewer than 66 arrests for civil disobedience and protesting in his life.

Sheen vastly outranks the second-most-arrested celebrity: Libertines and Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty, who has been arrested a mere 26 times.

The politically minded father of bad boy Charlie Sheen — who was himself arrested in 2009 for domestic assault — just can’t keep away from anti-war and anti-nuclear demonstrations, such as one in 2007 when he was pinched for trespassing at the Nevada Test Site.

Referring to his first arrest — in 1986, while protesting President Reagan’s Strategic Defense Initiative — Sheen said: “It was a terrifying experience, and also one of the happiest days of my life, because it turned out we had done everything we possibly could to object to this idea.”

None of the septuagenarian’s arrests were for serious crimes, unlike those of British rocker Doherty, 40, whose brushes with the law have mostly involved drugs, traffic crimes and robbery.

The survey’s researchers came up with their list of the 75 most-arrested celebrities after analyzing news articles and information from the news aggregator NNDB.

They found that both Kurt Cobain widow Courtney Love, 55, and 33-year-old “Mean Girls” actress Lindsay Lohan hold the dubious honor of being the most arrested female stars. Each has 10 arrests to her name, Lohan mostly for vehicle crime and Love chiefly for drug offences.

Musicians appear to be the most nefarious bunch of celebrities. Rapper DMX, 49, comes in third on the roster, with 24 arrests, including sentences for robbery and tax fraud. Meanwhile, Death Row Records co-founder Suge Knight, 54, placed fourth, with 15 arrests, including a conviction for manslaughter following a hit-and-run.

Aside from civil-disobedience arrests amassed by the likes of Sheen (as well as a couple for 82-year-old Jane Fonda), the most common crime committed by the stars included in the study was assault.

Celebs with multiple assault arrests to their name include rapper A$AP Rocky, 31, recently involved in a long legal battle over an incident in Sweden, and UFC fighter Conor McGregor, 31, arrested in 2018 for an attack on a bus housing rival fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov, as well as last year, for punching a man in a Dublin bar.

Following assault, the next-most-common crimes by boldfacers were driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine.
