BTS ‘Army’ blasts Ticketmaster after new rules hamper pre-sale

January 29, 2020

K-Pop supergroup BTS will be making their way to the States on their upcoming North American tour, but fans of the collective — known as the BTS Army — are calling out Ticketmaster for making the ticket purchasing process more complicated than necessary.

Members of the BTS Global Official Fanclub Army were allowed pre-sale access to tickets at 3 p.m. Wednesday, but were immediately met with technical difficulties. After pressing Ticketmaster’s social media accounts for answers, the ticket distributor revealed that users who share wi-fi accounts would likely be kicked out of the online queue, causing those who live with family, friends or on college campuses to call foul. Those who attempted to log into their Ticketmaster account from more than one device also lost their place in line.

“Ok no this IS NOT ok, ticketmaster i dont know what y’all are smoking up in there but y’all have LOST IT,” wrote one critic on Twitter. “so your telling me that you can’t connect more than 1 device to the same wifi or we’ll get kicked out?!!? WHAT A JOKE.”

Another fan added, “i really hate ticketmaster for adding all those new rules, as if getting tickets wasn‘t hard enough already.”

The group, comprised of members V, RM, Suga, Jungkook, Jin, J-Hope and Jimin, were recently spotted at the 2020 Grammys, where they wore coordinated trench coats and overcoats by Bottega Veneta. They also released a new single, “Black Swan,” earlier this month, and will put out an album entitled “Map of the Soul: 7” on February 21.
