Miami’s party scene shifts into high gear pre-Super Bowl

January 29, 2020

From Lady Gaga to “Gronk Beach,” Miami’s Super Bowl party scene is sure to elicit reactions from “wow” to “WTF?” this weekend.

Before J.Lo and Shakira play Sunday’s halftime show, innumerable A-list acts — including Gaga, Guns N’ Roses, Lizzo, Lil Wayne and Cardi B — will play private parties and sponsored events leading up to the game. (Even Maroon 5 is limping back to play a pre-show after its much-maligned halftime gig last year.)

Also, we hear Jamie Foxx will join a “Culinary Kickoff” fund-raiser for the Culinary Institute of America that will pair celeb chefs with NFL stars. Guy Fieri is overseeing an event called “The Players Tailgate.” And Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold will co-host Wheels Up’s “Super Saturday Tailgate.” Spotlighting WAGS rather than wideouts, a “Players’ Wives Fashion Show” will go down in the Miami Design District. Meanwhile, Paris Hilton will DJ at WALL Lounge, and Barstool Sports’ rowdy party will feature amateur boxing matches.

Media brands throwing their annual events include Sports Illustrated, Maxim and Rolling Stone. Budweiser is taking over an entire South Beach property and rebranding it the BUDX Hotel, Rob Gronkowski’s creating a “Gronk Beach” with Wynn Nightlife and LA club Bootsy Bellows will host Bootsy on the Water.

Bahamas resort and casino Baha Mar will take over the Versace mansion for its luxe party — and even sail the resort’s own superyacht, Eternity, to town for expected VIPs such as Floyd Mayweather.
