David O. Russell's Latest Film Adds Michael B. Jordan, Who is an Excellent Choice

February 13, 2020

It's been quite a few years since we've heard about anything having to do with David O. Russell. In fact, the last major movie he directed was the Jennifer Lawrence-starring Joy and honestly, it's hard to remember much of that film. The past couple of days have brought Russell back into the spotlight, however. While everyone has their own opinion on the director, he's putting together a fantastic cast for his new movie, which doesn't have a name just yet.

Per Variety, Michael B. Jordan (!!!) is joining an already star-studded cast for Russell's new film, which includes Christian Bale and Margot Robbie. Bale previously appeared in Russell's American Hustle back in 2013. Russell is also writing the film, which is also being produced by Matthew Budman (Joy, American Hustle).

However, as you can expect from a film that has no title, the plot details are nonexistent at this point, so stay tuned. Per IMDb, though, the film's title is listed as Amsterdam.

Jordan most recently appeared in the excellent Just Mercy alongside Jamie Foxx. Jordan played Equal Justice Initiative founder Bryan Stevenson, a lawyer whose goal was to exonerate wrongly convicted prisoners sentenced to death row.

The actor has also made a name for himself playing memorable characters in Creed and Black Panther, proving over and over again that he's got the range (we can forget the rebooted Fantastic Four movie though). Jordan's next project is set to be the drama Without Remorse, so keep an eye out for that.
