Celebrity wedding and party planner Colin Cowie — whose clients have included Tom Cruise and Oprah Winfrey — just masterminded his own nuptials, which included a South African safari and a full orchestra.
Cowie said “I do” to Danny Peuscovich on Saturday at the Boschendal Wine Estate surrounded by the mountains in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Guests — including chefs Todd English and Eric Ripert, designer Dennis Basso and restaurateur Omar Hernandez — were treated to a two-day safari before the ceremony.
“It was so glamorous,” Cowie tells us. “Guests walked through three gardens with Champagne on the way. I had a 22-piece orchestra playing Marvin Gaye love songs set among the most spectacular groups of mountains.”
Author Sloan Barnett officiated, and Marcela Roggeri sang at the reception. Later, guests headed to a party space decorated by Cowie in black, fringe, feathers and mirrors to take in entertainment from fire dancers, drummers and lighting displays. Cowie added he was “beyond overwhelmed.”
