Sharon Osbourne fired an assistant who saved her dogs from a fire

They say real heroes run into burning buildings. Other people send in their assistants.

Sharon Osbourne told a rip-roaring tale on Brit game show “Would I Lie To You?” in which she claimed to have fired a personal assistant for failing to “have a sense of humor” about a house fire.

The “Talk” host told panelists that she and husband Ozzy had lit a Christmas candle and gone to bed — and woke up to a fire alarm. She said that after Ozzy checked it out and set “half his hair” on fire, Sharon went to rouse Ozzy’s sleeping assistant in the guest house, telling him, “Get out. Help. Go in, get the paintings out.”

Hamming it up, Osbourne even said that when the EMT arrived, she took the oxygen mask off the assistant and put it on her pet. She said she fired the minion when she and Ozzy were later uproariously recounting the yarn and the assistant was miffed. “I said, ‘Well, if you didn’t find that funny,’ ” said Sharon, “ ‘how about this — you’re fired.’ ”

Osbourne has faced significant backlash on social media over the incident since the segment went viral.
