French protestors smashed an egg over the head of Vogue’s Hamish Bowles during an anti-government demonstration outside the Hermès menswear show in Paris.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, “Protestors clashed with a line of baton-wielding police and at one point tried to crash through the black iron gates of the Mobilier National complex where the show was taking place.”

The outlet reports that — as demonstrators chanted “Macron, resign!” (referring to the French president) — “one even cracked an egg on Hamish Bowles’ head.”

Apparently, the protestors are mad about the French government loaning the state-owned building to private companies, like it did with Hermès.
