Rose McGowan — who this week publicly called for celebrity lawyer Lisa Bloom to be disbarred for her role in once defending Harvey Weinstein — was in the front row of a New York Fashion Week catwalk on Tuesday.
McGowan told us at the women-founded brand Kaimin show, “I’ve only been to one other [NYFW] show … I’m just dealing with a lot of weird legal battles, so this is a good break from reality.”
She added: “These lawsuits are always quite stressful. It’s like a weird game of chess. So coming to the fashion show, seeing beautiful people and beautiful things is a good antidote.”
McGowan has alleged Weinstein raped her at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival — and the explosive new book “She Said,” by Weinstein news-breakers Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, reports that former Weinstein lawyer Bloom wrote a memo saying of McGowan, “We can place an article re her becoming increasingly unglued … and she’s discredited.”
McGowan told us of speaking out, “It is not fun and it doesn’t make it an easy life — but we have to speak the truth.”
It being Fashion Week, she told us of her shaved hairdo, “I can stick my head in the sink if I wanted to and just go. It’s amazing … I’m like a reverse Samson. If I have long hair, I feel weak; if I have short hair, I feel strong.”
