Luann de Lesseps’ arresting officer facing misconduct charges

September 10, 2019

The cop involved in arresting Luann de Lesseps in Palm Beach, Fla., in 2017 is now in trouble with the law himself.

Steven O’Leary was arrested in July on 17 counts of official misconduct, 12 counts of false imprisonment, nine counts of false statements, eight counts of tampering with evidence and one of petit theft and battery, according to local reports. He was working for the Martin County Sheriff’s office at the time of the alleged offenses and was fired earlier this year after they found discrepancies in his cases.

But a rep for the Palm Beach Police Department — where he worked when Luann was busted — told us his cases “have been reviewed by internal affairs and there were no discrepancies.”

De Lesseps completed probation in August. She was arrested on charges including battery on an officer but later pleaded to a lesser misdemeanor charge.
