Sean Avery — the ex-Rangers star (and soon-to-be father!) who films himself yelling at NYC drivers who block bike lanes — almost missed a decadent meal by world-renowned Brazilian chef Manoella Buffara.

We hear Avery rode his scooter over, but needed to get a wrench to fix it on the way. Buffara hosted a preview of her upcoming New York project at a Gramercy Park townhouse for Fashion Week.

Also among 20 VIP guests were Candice Swanepoel, Paolo Zampolli and Jonathan Cheban aka Foodgod.

The chef — along with partners Michael Satsky and Brian Gefter of Provocateur fame — will open her first US eatery, Ella, in Chelsea this year.
