Lady Gaga warns Jennifer Lopez and Shakira: ‘I better hear no lip-syncing’
Lady Gaga has one hardcore piece of advice — or is it shade? — for Sunday’s Super Bowl 2020 halftime headliners Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.
The Grammy and Oscar winner minced no words while mentioning the much-hyped duo during her pre-Super Bowl concert Saturday at Miami’s Meridian at Island Gardens venue.
“I better hear no lip-syncing tomorrow!” the 2017 halftime show star bellowed from her glitzy keyboard at AT&T TV Super Saturday Night Show. “I love you Miami! I love you J.Lo! I love you Shakira!”
Not all of the Twitterverse was lined up behind Mother Monster.
“She’s pressed she didn’t get the half time performance,” one catty commenter posted, apparently missing the fact that the 33-year-old artist born Stefani Germanotta has already been there, done that. Another sniped, “As if she doesn’t also lip sync.”
The native New Yorker frequently referenced her own Super Bowl showcase — beginning with a dramatic entrance while suspended from wires — throughout Saturday throughout her two-hour set.
“Thank you so much for believing in me,” she told her adoring, cheering fans. “I remember when I played the halftime show and it was one of the most special, beautiful things that’s ever happened to me. So, thank you.”
By the end of her show, Gaga walked back her previous remarks, saying, “I wish so much love and so much luck to everyone that’s doing the halftime show, [and] to both the teams that are playing each other in the Super Bowl. They’re all champions.”
Find out if J.Lo and Shaki take Gaga’s advice when the San Francisco 49ers go helmet-to-helmet with the Kansas City Chiefs starting at 6:30 p.m. on Fox.
