It’s over for “Bachelor in Paradise” couple Krystal Nielson and Chris Randone.
On Friday, the twosome announced they had “mutually decided to separate,” less than a year after tying the knot in Mexico.
“It hurts to announce that at this moment, we have mutually decided to separate. Never did we imagine this scenario, but we’ve come to a point where we both need to work on ourselves,” Randone and Nielson told “Bachelor Nation” in a joint statement.
They continued, “We are best friends that love and care for each other so deeply. We’ve appreciated everyone’s love and support so far throughout our journey and we just ask that you please respect our privacy as we navigate through this.”
Nielson, a fitness coach who vied for Arie Luyendyk’s heart on “The Bachelor” in 2018, met sales trainer Randone that same year on “Bachelor in Paradise.” Randone — a previous contestant on Becca Kufrin’s season of “The Bachelorette” — proposed to Nielson during the Season 5 finale of “Paradise.”
In June 2019, longtime “Bachelor” host Chris Harrison officiated Nielson and Randone’s wedding ceremony, which was attended by fellow “Bachelor” stars Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti.
