If there's one thing the Duggars know about, it's abiding by dress codes and following a whole bunch of weird, pointless rules.

But if there are two areas in which the Duggars are experts -- well, the second is definitely bringing in babies into the world.

And while Jim Bob's offspring might always be overly shy about the hanky-panky involved in making new life, they weirdly like to put it all out there when it comes to the graphic process of welcoming new little Duggars into the world.

Joy-Anna Duggar welcomed her second child last month, and in the weeks since she welcomed baby Evelyn, she's delighted in sharing photos and updates online.

But it wasn't until this week that we got to witness mother and daughter's very first moments together.

Yes, Joy has decided to share video of her labor and delivery with the world.

And from what we've seen, it appears the process was anything but easy.

"The doctor broke my water, and instantly I started having contractions, two to four minutes apart," Joy excitedly told the camera.

"That's encouraging. My body's doing what it needs to do."

Joy went on to say that she's very pleased with herself for breaking Duggar tradition and giving birth in a hospital, instead of at home.

For one thing, hospitals mean clean facilities and professional staff.

But just as importantly, hospitals mean epidurals.

"I'm so happy I got the epidural... I don't see how people do this without epidurals."

When her sister-in-law pointed out that she delivered her first child without an epidural, Joy comically acknowledged the error of her ways.

"I know ... stupid," Joy Anna replied. "I don't know how I did it with Gideon. It hurts so bad."

The pain got so bad at one point that Joy decided she wouldn't be welcoming any more little Duggars into the world.

"Babe, we're not having another kid," she jokingly (we think) told husband Austin Forsyth at one point.

Joy may have been jesting in the delivery room, but it seems she really did face quite a few struggles over the course of her most recent pregnancy.

"This pregnancy has been harder, I think, for me just because after the miscarriage, having those fears of 'What if this happens again?'  Or what if something's wrong?" she said during this week's episode of Counting On.

"Another baby doesn't replace that baby, but it does give you an expected hope for another child."

The episode also featured an elaborate gender reveal that thankfully didn't result in any death or destruction.

A helicopter flew overhead and dropped pink confetti to indicate that Joy and Austin were having a girl.

"My stomach started turning in knots. I was so excited. I couldn't wait for everybody to find out," Joy said of the big moment.

"I was very surprised to see the pink come out of the helicopter. I'm like, 'Wow, that's really awesome. A whole string of granddaughters,'" Michelle Duggar said, possibly sarcastically.

Evelyn is the seventh straight granddaughter for Jim Bob and Michelle.

We guess they'll be spending a lot of money on bolts of denim for making floor-length skirts!
