Maci Bookout has been through an awful lot with Ryan Edwards.

Normally we’d say these two have been through a lot together, but in this case, Ryan has been the one creating 100 percent of the drama, and Maci has been the one coping with the fallout.

As you’ve likely heard by now, Ryan was arrested once again last week after he relapsed and threatened to murder his wife, Mackenzie Standifer.

Making the situation even sadder is the fact that in the weeks before his latest meltdown, Edwards seemed to be making all of the right decisions.

Ryan got fired from Teen Mom OG back in 2021, but he recently returned to the franchise that made him famous.

The segment was filmed over a month ago — well before his life fell apart — but Ryan’s appearance on the most recent Teen Mom reunion special aired earlier this week.

To the surprise of viewers, Ryan and Maci sat and had a civil conversation about their 14-year-old son, Bentley, and the steps that Edwards can take to be a bigger part of the boy’s life.

Revealing that “it’s been a long time” since they last spoke, Maci said that her relationship with Ryan is “kind of nonexistent” these days.

“I’d just like to be able to, for Maci to be okay with me being able to see him. Hell, I haven’t got to spend any time with him, just me, in a long time,” said a tearful Ryan at one point.

“Hell, I just miss him. There’s a lot of times I wasn’t there just to see him play ball, just putting myself first.”

Ryan pled for compassion, noting that he might be able to have a better relationship with his son if he didn’t “have to deal with everything else that I’ve had to in the past, just everyone else in the way.”

“I just looked at him and I could see the pain and honestly I felt like I was staring at Bentley,” Maci responded.

“It’s obviously bittersweet, but I really appreciate the vulnerability and the ownership, where he maybe came up short, what he could have done differently,” she continued.

“Everything he was committing to, it just felt little by little, a breath of fresh air, because it would absolutely make Bentley’s heart so whole.”

Bookout then made it abundantly clear that Bentley’s love for his father remains undiminished.

“Ryan, there’s a part of Bentley that is hurting, he loves you so much and there is only one person who can help that hurt and it’s you,” she said.

“He wants a relationship with you more than anything else.”

Maci was then asked about ways that she might help Ryan improve his relationship with Bentley.

“I think one of them is making sure that I’m keeping Ryan all the way in the loop as it pertains to anything Bentley has going on, so he as the option to support and be there,” she said.

Maci then acknowledged the elephant in the room, noting that she and Ryan have often had “trouble communicating with each other respectfully.”

“I agree, I said some things that were hateful. Yes, I’m sorry for that,” Ryan said.

“I also want to apologize for not putting in more of an effort to understand the battles you were fighting and struggles you were going through,” she chimed in.

“I should have treated you more like a human being and if I could go back and do it different, I definitely would, but I’m going to do it different moving forward and I’m sorry.”

Had it not been for the events of the past week, the segment would have left us feeling hopeful for Ryan’s relationship with Bentley.

As it is, however, the conversation is just a sad reminder of what might have been.

Audrey Roloff may want to just stay off the Internet at this point.

The former Little People, Big World often garners backlash from strangers on the Internet for coming across like a self-aggrandizing know-it-all.

She often writes gibberish that she thinks is profound.

Last week, however, Audrey was pretty straightforward in one of her Instagram posts.

The 31-year old jumped on her personal account this past Monday in order to share a video of her daughter, Ember, and sons Bode and Radley learning that the family was taking a vacation to Disneyland.

“Telling our kids we’re are taking them to Disneyland for the first time! Me: ‘We’re going to Disneyland!’ Bode: “Balloons!!’” Audrey wrote alongside the clip… which captured her revealing the news with, yes, Mickey Mouse-shaped balloons.

“But Ember is ecstatic to meet the princesses.”

(Added Audrey: “Also… do not buy these cute Mickey Mouse ears off Amazon. What a rip off.”)

We’re often critical of Audrey Roloff ourselves here at The Hollywood Gossip because she really does come across as someone who stands on a pedestal and thinks she has marriage and parenting totally figured out.

But our response to this message?

To this post? To a trip with young kids to Disneyland?

NBD, that’s for sure. Pretty sweet, actually.

HOWEVER, shortly after the podcast host and author shared the post, one critic took to the comments section to judge her with a negative response.

“How can a Christian go to Disney?” the social media user wrote. “Pls protect your children.”

Audrey fired back by sharing a screenshot of the comment via her Instagram Stories, which included responses from her other followers who at least took her side in this unexpected battle.

“Comments on my reel like this,” Roloff captioned the post, expressing her frustration by adding an emoji with spiral eyes.

Way back on April 2019, the former reality star spoke to In Touch Weekly about how she deals with mom shaming.

“You’re always going to get the people bashing you, shaming you. No matter how many followers you have, the ratio is probably similar,” she said at the time.

“I think keeping that in perspective has kept me grounded.”

Audrey also noted how her husband has kept her from flying off any rails.

“Jeremy’s just a voice of truth in the background on reminding me that I’m a good mom and that I do know what’s best for my daughter,” Audrey said.

“I have the context and the people who follow me online don’t.”

Earlier this month, we learned that Josh Duggar is currently in solitary confinement in prison.

Despite the twisted nature of his crimes, it is not for his protection. It is a punishment.

Josh allegedly smuggled contraband into the prison. Specifically, a phone. One with which he could contact the outside world.

This is not Josh’s preferred type of infraction — a minor one — but a major violation. And the notorious creep could potentially spend months in solitary.

As we reported last week, Josh Duggar is reportedly spending his time in SHU — the Texas prison’s “Special Housing Unit.”

This is simply a formal, less menacing name for a controversial carceral practice: solitary confinement.

Prison authorities caught Josh in possession of a secret, contraband cell phone. That is a major no-no.

Right now, we don’t really know how long Josh is going to remain in this isolated confinement, cut off from all social contact.

In addition to the social deprivation, most SHU situations involve very confined space. And there is an accompanying lack of free movement and basic privileges.

When news of Josh’s prison violation first broke, many wondered how many days he might spend in solitary. It turns out that “days” is an understatement.

Reports from insiders — those with inside knowledge of the federal prison in Texas and its workings — suggest that it may be weeks. Or even longer.

One person whose relative is an inmate there sounded confident that Josh is still in solitary, a week later.

“Most of the people in there,” the source shared, “have been in there for months.”

So … what determines how long it will be before Josh is once again among the general population?

Apparently, he may remain under confinement in this way until his disciplinary hearing.

Things could be considerably bad for Josh. While it’s impossible to feel sorry for him, specifically, it appears that his circumstances may be so bad that we wouldn’t wish them on anyone.

While under SHU confinement, visitors either fall under the “restricted” category or the altogether “disallowed” column.

According to the Bureau of Federal prisons, inmates under these circumstances receive only “one telephone call per month.”

And the source made it clear that things are even worse for that at Seagoville.

Allegedly, things there are “so bad” that the regional office had to look into “what was going on” at FCI Seagoville.

“They’ve been keeping prisoners in the SHU indefinitely,” the source reported.

“Not letting them have DHO hearings,” the insider continued, “which let them know when they’re getting out.”

According to what an inside source has told The Sun, Josh Duggar could remain in SHU for months.

On the one hand, solitary confinement destroys mental health and prevents anyone who might reform from reforming. We as a society should abhor and outlaw torture of any kind. Prisoners, we must remember, are humans too. Even if all of them were guilty, they would still be people.

At the same time … Josh is not a good posterboy for people facing injustice. His horrifying crimes display no ounce of sympathy for little girls whose lives were destroyed for his enjoyment. There are countless examples of more sympathetic, innocent victims of carceral cruelty.

Allison Holker would like everyone to know something important.

Two months after the death of her husband, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, the professional dancer took to Instagram on Saturday in order to show her gratitude.

“I just want to say thank you for all love and support you guys have sent to me and my family at this time,” the 35-year old said in a video she posted Instagram.

Holker uploaded this footage in the wake of Boss taking his own life back in December.

“It has been very challenging and emotional, but you guys have brought so much hope and inspiration to us by sharing stories and memories and moments and different ways that Stephen impacted your life,” continued Holker.

“It’s brought us so much hope and inspiration.”

Boss rose to fame as a contestant on MTV’s The Wade Robson Project before becoming a runner-up on Star Search.

He then finished second on So You Think You Can Dance in 2008… and joined The Ellen DeGeneres Show six years later as a guest DJ.

Boss eventually became a permanent fixture on the talk show and was elevated to co-executive producer status in 2020.

Holker — who married Boss in 2013 — went on:

“He was someone that was just beautiful, and he lived his life from love and he made you feel a certain way.

“My family and I have always said that we wanted to make sure that our purpose was lived out by bringing joy to people, joy to people’s homes, from dance or love — and that’s not going to change for us.

“It’s going to feel a little bit different, but we know that that’s our purpose, and we’ll still do that to this day.”

The Dancing With the Stars alum and Boss shared son Maddox, 6, and daughter Zaia, 3.

Prior to his passing, Boss also adopted Holker’s daughter Weslie, 14, from a previous relationship.

“I hope that we can remember the feeling that he gave us and remember that we can still move from there.

“We can still move and choose love, and we can still choose grace and we can still choose kindness,” Holker told followers.

“And I will always be there for you guys, and I appreciate you guys being there for us at this moment. It goes a really far way for us, so thank you. And I hope you guys remember how special you are and how much of an impact you make around the world and continue to move from there.

“We love you guys.”

Boss was laid to rest at a small family funeral on January 4.

About a month later, hundreds turned out for a celebration of life in his honor.

“To my husband, best friend, babe, Chee-chalker, Superman and father of my children I LOVE YOU FOREVER and ALWAYS!” Holker previously captioned a slideshow of happy moments with Boss.

“We will forever remember you as the true beacon of light that you were and we will continue to cast your light and love throughout the world.

This week, Vanessa Guerra shared that she won’t film 90 Day Fiance — or any of its innumerable spinoffs — ever again.

She said that it is unlikely that her husband, Colt Johnson, will.

We know that Colt suffered a horrible, leg-shattering accident late last year. And we now know a little more about it.

But what does that have to do with them quitting the show for good?

On Monday, February 13, Vanessa Guerra took to her Instagram Stories to hold a Q&A with her fans and followers.

As we reported, she informed the world that, in no uncertain terms, she is done with 90 Day Fiance and all of its offshoots.

“I refuse to film anymore,” she declared. Vanessa then added that her husband, Colt, is “unlikely” to film again.

Vanessa did not actually spell out the reason for this departure.

Her tone seems to suggest that this is not simply a case of the franchise loosing interest, or wanting a break from filming.

Other topics that Vanessa addressed have fans wondering if this move is a direct result of Colt’s accident from December 2022.

In early January, Vanessa shared the news of Colt’s terrible injury.

A month had already passed, but Colt was still dealing with a lot — from vastly reduced mobility (making use of a wheelchair) to side effects from his pain meds (making use of a catheter).

When Vanessa first shared the news, she focused only on his condition. She had to handle moving them to a first-floor apartment and tending to his needs. It was a big deal.

But, at the time, she did not reveal how Colt had sustained these debilitating injuries.

His shattered leg, some fans speculated, might have been the result of any numbers of catastrophic mishaps.

This week, Vanessa revealed the cause of that, as well.

It turns out that Colt and Vanessa were filming for the reality TV franchise when he sustained the shattered leg.

“We were filming a scene on trampolines that went terribly wrong,” she explained.

Vanessa did not specify. But Colt had to undergo three surgeries to repair the damage.

And Vanessa detailed last month that it will be “six to eight months” before Colt is likely to recover.

“Physical therapy will be added in the next month or two for him to be able to learn how to walk again,” she shared.

This week, Vanessa updated fans on her husband’s recovery. And she sounded really positive.

“It was overwhelming at first, but I’ve never seen him so determined to do something for himself before this,” Vanessa commented.

She observed that: “He’s actually more independent now than before he broke his leg.”

Colt has notoriously depended upon others. Debbie, his mom, but also Vanessa, his wife. Sometimes, we find growth in surprising places.

So Vanessa clearly had the opportunity to explain why she does not wish to film again. And why Colt will likely follow suit, too. But she chose not to.

Maybe she’s not ready to talk just yet. Or perhaps Vanessa and Colt are still abiding by an NDA. If cameras were filming during the trampoline catastrophe, it’s very plausible that the contract requires them to clam up.

It’s weird to think of a terrible moment in someone’s life being a “TV spoiler,” but that’s the nature of reality television. Perhaps, if this footage ever airs, we will understand why Colt and Vanessa are taking this step.

When Josh Duggar was sentenced to 151 months in prison back in May of 2022, the world breathed a collective sigh of relief.

Millions hoped that that would be the last we’d hear from Josh for the next decade or so, but unfortunately, that turned out not to be the case.

Lawyers for the convicted predator were back in court on Thursday for a hearing before a three-judge panel of the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Their goal is to secure a second trial in the hope of having Josh’s conviction overturned.

Defense lawyers allege that federal agents violated Josh’s rights when they confiscated his phone as they searched his workplace for evidence of child pornography.

“[Duggar] takes out his phone, physically puts it to his ear… for the purpose of contacting his legal counsel,” Josh’s attorney Justin Gelfand explained in court.

“What federal agents did is they physically took the phone out of his hand and from that point forward, deprived him of the ability to communicate with his legal counsel, as was his constitutional right.”

Agents from the Department of Homeland Security who raided Josh’s office have countered that argument by pointing out that Josh was not under arrest at the time, and thus could have contacted his lawyers by other means.

“He was told he was free to go. No reasonable person in his shoes at that time would believe that,” Gelfand alleged in response.

Asked by the judge if Josh could have walked to a neighboring business to use the phone, Gelfand replied:

“This lot was accessible only by a highway with no sidewalk, it was in the middle of nowhere. There was nowhere to go.”

The attorney also alleged that Josh had been denied access to his car.

“The vehicle he came in was searched, he had no access to it,” Gelfand said.

“The keys to the other vehicles in the car lot were in the office. He wouldn’t be allowed to enter without an escort.”

“Mr. Duggar was not in custody at any point during the search of the used car lot… Mr. Duggar was repeatedly told he was not in custody and was free to leave,” replied Joshua Handell, an attorney for the prosecution.

“He said his wife was pregnant and expecting soon. He may have to leave in order to contact her. The agent said that’s perfectly fine,” Handell continued.

“Mr. Duggar did leave the scene at a time of his choosing and without being arrested… Mr. Duggar voluntarily ended the interview. He was not arrested until a year and a half later.”

Observers initially assumed that Josh’s appeal would be promptly thrown out of court, but the panel of judges seemed to find the defense’s argument compelling.

“I am a little concerned though… The agent knew he was trying to call his counsel. It appears that might have been the only way he could’ve done so,” one judge said in court on Thursday.

“It does concern me when someone makes an attempt to contact counsel… and is unable to call counsel because there is no alternative way to do it. I’ve never seen that before.”

At the end of the hearing, the judges put the case “under advisement” before dismissing counsel.

If granted a second trial, Josh’s lawyers will reportedly argue that their client was framed by Caleb Williams, a longtime family friend who is also a convicted sex offender.

Prison sources say Josh is currently in solitary confinement, having been caught with a cellphone that was smuggled into the facility.

Insiders say Josh’s wife, Anna Duggar, has maintained her belief that her husband is innocent and will be acquitted on appeal.

Not all of the Duggars are so naive, however.

While promoting her new memoir, Jinger Duggar revealed that she has not spoken with Josh in two years.

“That’s something that is still just so difficult for me to talk about,” Jinger admitted.

“And my heart breaks for the victims and their families. And at the same time, I’m just so grateful for the justice system. I’m grateful that justice is being served. It’s just so heartbreaking.”

So at least one Duggar won’t be rooting for Josh as he presses on with his appeal.

In addition to sightseeing and a cultural journey, David & Annie: After The 90 Days Season 2 has had another focus.

Longtime fan-favorites David Toborowsky and Annie Suwan hope to give two of her teen relatives more opportunities in life.

Unfortunately, the road to applying for a visa — even if you have American family — is long and decidedly uphill.

Amber and Jordan sat down for their visa interviews. Sadly, things did not go as (most of) the family had hoped.

On this week’s episode of David & Annie: After The 90 Days, the fan-favorite couple joined more of Annie’s family to share some news.

Annie’s brother, Jordan, is still in his early teens. She also has a young cousin, Amber.

For years, David and Annie have hoped to bring both of them to the United States. It is their hope that the two will have more opportunities and a better life as a result.

Jordan and Amber are both over 14. So, when they did their interviews with US immigration officials, they did it without other family present.

During the interview, they both felt like things were going relatively well. And then, they received the news.

They had to tell David, Annie, and the rest of the family that they are not getting a green light to move to the US. Not yet.

David seemed to heave teared up at the news. Amber certainly looked tearful as she explained her experience.

“I answered everything, and it was all going good,” she described. Annie offered her cousin a comforting hug and reassurances. Sometimes, that’s the best thing in the moment.

“Even though she [says] she did her best, and she [does] not feel regrets, she is still 17. So, when I see her crying, it crushed my heart,” Annie expressed to the confessional camera.

To no one’s surprise, Jordan did not share his cousin’s distress. He has repeatedly expressed real reservation about a move to America.

“It’s not that I feel happy,” he explained to the camera, “but I feel more relieved.”

Jordan added in a very honest tone that “Now I’ll be able to go home.” Change can be scary. We get it.

One real surprise to everyone was Aunt Lom’s change in perspective. As Annie phrased it, “I just feel like her mind is more positive.”

Lom related how traveling to Phuket had opened her eyes to different ways of life. It made her more eager to see Amber and Jordan have more opportunities in life.

Many people can relate. Only by meeting new people (and often, visiting new places) do we all truly understand how many, or how few, opportunities others might have.

Viewers have watched David and Annie and their loved ones endure this painful setback before. In 2022, we watched Jordan and Amber try for an American visa, only to receive a denial.

Amber really internalized that, feeling as if it were a personal failing. It is not. Many systems, including the US immigration system, are hardwired to make things inhumanly difficult. Why? There are some practical concerns, but there are also elements of xenophobia and racism. They are cooked into the formula for too many US laws and policies.

The hope is that David and Annie can help Amber and Jordan overcome these bitter obstacles to give them their best chance at life.

Those who loved Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss and those who knew him well came together on Saturday in Los Angeles to honor the late entertainer.

“He was the light. He chose love, grace and kindness. And he deserves to be celebrated,” wife Alison Holker reportedly said at an event that drew over 500 people.

The famous DJ and dancer took his own life in December.

He was 40 years old.

Among the speakers to share their thoughts and love for Stephen were his aforementioned wife… his friend and mentor Ellen DeGeneres… and comedians Loni Love and Wayne Brady.

The family pastor, Joe Smith, hosted the Celebration of Life, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Guests included DeGeneres, Wayne Brady, Loni Love, Jeff Thacker, Derek Hough, AJ McLean, Robin Antin and many members of both the So You Think You Can Dance and the Ellen DeGeneres Show casts and crews.

Boss was best known for having competed on So You Think You Can Dance and for serving as the in-house DJ on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The event was also an opportunity for Holker to carry on her spouse’s legacy through the Move with Kindness Foundation, which was created on behalf of her and their kids — Weslie, Maddox, 6, and Zaia, 3 — to support mental health initiatives in Stephen’s honor.

Guests were given “Move with Kindness” wristbands and invited to donate to the organization.

In a statement confirming her husband’s passing about two months, Holker poured her heart out.

“Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him.

“He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans,” she said at the time.

“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt.

“I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children.”

In closing her statement, Allison shared a message directly to her husband:

“Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”

A few weeks later on January 6, Allison posted a tribute video in honor of Boss.

“To my husband, best friend, babe, Chee-chalker, Superman and father of my children I LOVE YOU FOREVER and ALWAYS,” she captioned the footage.

“We will forever remember you as the true beacon of light that you were and we will continue to cast your light and love throughout the world.”
