K-pop supergroup BTS kicked off their weeklong residency on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday night with a remote performance of their 2018 hit “Idol” — and a buzzy new look for Jungkook.
While dancing alongside his bandmates RM, Jimin, Suga, J-Hope, V and Jin in front of Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul, the 23-year-old star wore his hair in a messy man bun and layered a low-cut shirt beneath his black hanbok, delighting BTS fans (aka the ARMY) and swiftly trending on Twitter.
“Jungkook performing in man bun and exposed chest, i’m ascending,” one person gushed, while another tweeted, “the man bun, the chest, the outfit, the look, the whole jeon jungkook???? IM GONNA PASS OUT.”
Jungkook’s look for BTS’ performance of their latest single “Dynamite” couldn’t have been more different. While treating viewers to a colorful a cappella version of the hit alongside The Roots, the “Still With You” singer wore a sunny yellow outfit and heart-shaped belt buckle, his hair neatly parted with a single face-framing curl.
Following their “Tonight Show” residency, BTS will perform two “Map of the Soul” online concerts on October 10 and 11 before their new album, “BE (Deluxe Edition),” drops in November.
