Jenelle Evans Heads to Court For Harassing David Eason's Ex!
Jenelle Evans and David Eason basically live in court, and it can be very difficult to keep all their charges and cases separate.
Just last month, David was in front of a judge in connection with allegations that he pistol-whipped one of Jenelle's friends.
As usual, he got off scot-free.
And now, it looks like the Easons might have found a way to keep their winning streak going;
The couple was in court this week to answer to allegations that they stalked and harassed Olivia Leedham, David's ex-girlfriend, and the mother of his son Kaden.
As you may recall, the Easons were accused of posting nude photos of Leedham, writing fake negative Yelp reviews for her hair salon in an effort to hurt her business, and even creating a website for the sole purpose of publishing damaging claims about her.
As has been the case so many times before, David and Jenelle had way too much time on their hands, and it turned out to be bad for society.
Anyway, Olivia filed a lawsuit against the Easons back in November of 2019, and the case finally went to court this week.
Unfortunately, the wheels of justice continue to turn slowly in Jenelle's neck of the woods, and as The Ashley's Reality Roundup reports, the purpose of Tuesday's hearing was to determine if the case against Evans should continue, despite the motion to dismiss she filed in February.
Disappointingly, Olivia agreed to dismiss five of the six charges against Jenelle, including the one about posting lewd images of her online.
The only charge Leedham is still pursuing against Jenelle is the one involving her use of Yelp and Facebook to try and damage Olivia's business.
In court documents obtained by the Ashley, Olivia's lawyers lay out their case against Jenelle and David:
“David and/or Jenelle caused injury to [Olivia’s] reputation by making false and defamatory statements concerning Olivia, notably that she is unfit for her current practice of business, that she has abortions recklessly and uses them for birth control, that she has a continuing alcohol problem, that she assaulted David, that she is promiscuous…and generally unsuitable and unfit for motherhood," they write.
The lawyers add that the Easons were under the impression that Olivia would be unable to pursue legal action as long as they never used her last name, which is hilariously wrong.
“David and/or Jenelle operate under the mistaken assumption that if they do not include Olivia’s last name that they escape liability for vicious, assaultive and defamatory statements that they have published as false, or acted with reckless disregard for their truth or falsity at the time of publication," the documents state.
Jenelle attempted to pass off her harassment as legitimate feedback by pretending that she was posting for a friend who doesn't know how to post reviews.
You can't make this stuff up:
So Jenelle is still being sued for $25,000 for making defamatory statements.
Given all the rumors that Evans is broke, we're guessing she can't afford to lose this case ... or, for that matter, to shell out for a legal team to help her win it.
But the best news to come out of this situation is that none of the allegations against David have been dropped, and he's still facing all six of his original charges.
No court date has been set, but it seems he'll appear before a judge -- most likely via Covid-necessitated video conference -- in the very near future.
Hopefully, Olivia dropped her claims against Jenelle so that she can focus all of her energy on bringing down David.
We'll have further updates on this developing story as more information becomes available.
