Donald Glover’s family grew a little larger during the pandemic.
Glover, 37, told “I May Destroy You” star Michaela Coel in a conversation for GQ that he and partner Michelle White welcomed their third child together against the backdrop of coronavirus and the George Floyd protests.
“I was in the hospital bed. My son had just been born, like, an hour before and I was watching the George Floyd video. It was such a weird moment,” Glover, aka Childish Gambino, recalled.
“It was such an intense, weird moment, because I’m watching that video and it’s like eight minutes long, so you’re sitting there and I had just had this amazing, joyful, expanding moment …”
Glover said he and White named their son after the star’s late father, Donald Glover, Sr.
“I don’t even know what, really, the word is to describe it,” he continued. “It was just expanding: the empathy and compassion and the terror and the joy of it.”
The “Atlanta” actor and White also share sons Legend, 3, and Drake, 2.
