Amid speculation that he won’t renew his contract with his hit radio show, “The Breakfast Club,” co-host Charlamagne tha God has signed “a multi-year, multi-project” deal with audio giant Audible.
Back in March, Page Six reported that the radio superstar had various “potential deals” on the table, should he decide not to re-sign with the show.
On Tuesday, Audible announced that Charlamagne and Kevin Hart are working together on a series of shows for the company. “The slate of episodic long-form Audible Originals will feature fiction and nonfiction scripted series from both emerging and high wattage superstar talent that the two entertainment giants personally source, cultivate and develop,” it said in a press release. “It will also include projects co-written and performed by Kevin and Charlamagne, as well as programs written and performed separately.”
Charlamagne also announced a chat show for Comedy Central in July. It’s not yet clear what these deals mean for Charlamagne’s contract with “The Breakfast Club” and its network, iHeartRadio. That contract is reportedly up at the end of the year.
