Veteran philanthropist Barbara Tober never misses an opening night. But she’d never been to a gala as a winged horse — until this week.
The CODAworx awards ceremony took place on the virtual world-building platform Second Life last week, and we’re told Tober chose a Pegasus-like character to represent her on-screen. She mingled with avatars including designer Ed Schlossberg, plus new friends such as glittering fairies, punk rockers and men in white-tie dress. “I hope I can bring good luck to everyone at this conference because that’s what unicorns are supposed to do,” she said to the assembled avatars.
