No red carpet? No problem!
For the 2020 Emmys, Zendaya twirled through her living room wearing a plunging purple-and-black gown by Christopher John Rogers that she paired with Bulgari jewels.
The 23-year-old actress, who is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her work as Rue in HBO’s “Euphoria,” had said she always wanted to bring the fashion heat for the show — even though the dress code was “come as you are, but make an effort!”
“I do want to dress up. I still want to have the experience,” she told Jimmy Kimmel last month. “It’ll be probably just my family over here, but I definitely want to pull a look and maybe just walk my living room carpet.”
And the look didn’t disappoint: Her stylist Law Roach summed it up on Instagram as, “If Emmy was a real girl…”
And the designer, too, posted a few teases of the look, from a purple Teletubby, to Barney to a harlequin clown clad in a similar hue.
This is a breakout moment for Rogers, who is just 26 years old. The Baton Rouge, La. native is a relative newcomer to the red carpet scene, and made his New York Fashion Week debut in September 2019.
Zendaya did label a video of herself in the dress “Look 1,” which means we might be in for more fashion fun from the starlet as the night goes on!
