Last week, Counting On fans were stunned by the news that Josh and Anna Duggar are living in a windowless warehouse located on his father's property.

Rumors of the substandard living arrangement had been circulating for months, but many of Josh's harshest critics considered them too good to be true.

However, TLC inadvertently confirmed the rumors by airing an episode of Counting On that featured scenes shot inside an "unused" warehouse.

Eagle-eyed fans were able to match the decor to interior photos of Josh's home that Anna had posted on Instagram.

They also noticed that she had never posted any pics of the outside of their home, probably for fear of confirming the warehouse rumors.

Needless to say, Josh and Anna aren't exactly living the dream these days, and this probably isn't the future they imagined for themselves when Josh was working as a high-powered DC lobbyist early on in their marriage.

Now, it seems the situation is even worse than we previously realized, and the couple appears to be raising six kids with no steady income.

According to a new report from The Sun, Josh's car dealership is now listed as "permanently closed."

The dealership had served as his primary means of support in the years since he was fired from Counting On amid revelations that he had molested five young girls.

News of the closing was confirmed by the landlords whom Josh leased his company's property from.

"They are no longer on our property," they told The Sun.

Others who are familiar with the situation say that Josh's former offices are “completely empty now” and signs for the business have been “taken down.”

The Sun notes that the company -- Wholesale Motorcars -- has not updated its Facebook page since September of 2019.

The news comes less than a year after Josh's offices were raided by Homeland Security agents.

The purpose of the raid remains a mystery, but it's believed to be related to an investigation concerning Josh's hiring practices.

Whatever the case, it looks as though the raid -- and the resulting bad press -- was the nail in the coffin for Wholesale Motors.

The situation raises a number of questions about how Josh and Anna are managing to feed six children with no visible means of support.

The answer, of course, can likely be found in Josh's relationship with his parents.

Not only is the family living (presumably) rent-free in one of Jim Bob's outbuildings, the patriarch is probably also providing his son and daughter-in-law with the necessities of daily life.

It's important to note that he is almost certainly not doing so out of the goodness of his heart, but as a means of maintaining control.

According to Jill Duggar's husband, Derick Dillard, Jim Bob keeps all of the money that his children earn from Counting On and doles it out "as needed" in situations such as these.

Anna Duggar still makes occasional appearances on the show, but instead of being compensated for her appearances, she's probably made to feel as though she's doing her part for the family business that puts food on her table.

Josh and Jim Bob might deserve each other -- but Anna and her kids are being punished unfairly in a situation that borders on tragedy.
