Catherine O’Hara honors Moira Rose, ‘Schitt’s Creek’ with Emmys 2020 face mask
Once a rose, always a rose.
Catherine O’Hara subtly paid tribute to her “Schitt’s Creek” character Moira Rose during the Emmys 2020 virtual award show by wearing a face mask embroidered with a small rose, a nod to the family’s floral surname.
O’Hara paired the PPE with a black sparkling Valentino dress as she accepted the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
O’Hara wasn’t the only one of her cast mates to reference the PopTV show via fashion; Dan Levy, the creator, writer, director and fellow star of “Schitt’s Creek,” wore a Thom Browne suit with a kilt that harkened back to the series finale, in which his character David Rose wears the tuxedo version of the same outfit for his wedding.
The Canadian cast gathered in Ontario for the socially distanced event, sporting masks after confirming on social media that they had all tested negative for coronavirus.
Besides fêting the end of the series, there was much to celebrate on Sunday night; “Schitt’s Creek” swept the awards, winning for Lead Actress (O’Hara), Lead Actor (Eugene Levy), Supporting Actress (Annie Murphy) and Supporting Actor (Dan Levy) as well as Outstanding Comedy Series and more.
