Scooter Braun finally breaks silence on Taylor Swift feud

November 21, 2019

Music mogul Scooter Braun broke his silence about his months-long feud with pop star Taylor Swift on Thursday, saying he’d rather communicate face-to-face rather than air grievances on social media.

Speaking at the 2019 Entertainment Industry Conference, Braun didn’t address Swift by name but addressed death threats and other online abuse he’s received since their feud began about six months ago.

“It’s just not my style. I just think we live in a time of toxic division and people thinking that social media is the appropriate place to air out on each other and not have conversations,” Braun said at the event.

“I don’t like politicians doing it. I don’t like anybody doing it,” he added.

Braun and Swift have been feuding since his company took control of Big Machine Label Group, which controls the masters to most of Swift’s music.

The pop sensation then accused him of “incessant, manipulative bullying” and called his purchase of the label a “worst case scenario.”

Braun then added that their sour relationship may be a result of “miscommunication.”

“People need to communicate, and when people are able to communicate, I think they work things out,” he said.

He added that he wouldn’t “participate” in a social media war.

Swift has not commented since Braun’s remarks.
