A former “Shark Tank” contestant was arrested after allegedly being caught with more than $80,000 worth of drugs at his Illinois home.
Joseph Parisi — who appeared on the popular ABC reality show in 2017 — was busted last week following an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security, US Postal Service and local police, People magazine reported Monday.
Homeland Security officials were initially tipped off that a package possibly containing ecstasy was being shipped from the Netherlands to another home in Geneva, Illinois.
Police later learned Parisi, 31, was allegedly using that address to accept packages.
A search of his home turned up 55 grams of ecstasy, seven grams of psychedelic mushrooms, 65 grams of marijuana and some cocaine, authorities said.
Police also intercepted two additional parcels with about 508 grams of ecstasy, they said.
Parisi was charged with controlled substance trafficking, manufacture/delivery of ecstasy, possession of a controlled substance, attempt to possess ecstasy, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
When he appeared on “Shark Tank,” Parisi pitched “Guard Llama,” a personal security device that promised a “one-button” connection to law enforcement, with his then-partner Nick Nevarez.
The business proposition earned the pair a $100,000 investment from real estate maven Barbara Corcoran, one of the judges on the show.
