The cause of 38-year-old restaurateur Harry Morton’s death won’t be announced until further investigation is conducted.
The cause of death is deferred, the Los Angeles County Dept. of Medical Examiner-Coroner confirmed to Page Six on Monday night. As explained on the Coroner’s website, “The pathologist can sometimes determine the cause of death right after examination. Other times, the pathologist needs to have more tests done. In that case, the County will issue a deferred death certificate.”
According to People, an autopsy was completed on Monday.
Morton, who founded the Pink Taco restaurant chain, died Saturday at his $25 million Beverly Hills mansion, a family source previously told us.
The day before his death, Morton shared a meal with his family, including his father, Hard Rock Cafe co-founder Peter Morton, the source said. His grandfather, Arnie Morton, is the co-founder of the famed Morton’s Steakhouse chain.
On Monday, Morton’s ex-girlfriend Lindsay Lohan paid tribute to him, sharing an old photo of them on Instagram and captioning it, “Best friends. Best life.”
