Lori Loughlin doing mock trials with lawyers for college admissions case: report
Lori Loughlin has been conducting mock trials with her attorneys ahead of her upcoming court battle over her alleged role in the college admissions scandal, according to a new report.
The “Full House” actress — who pleaded not guilty to paying $500,000 to bribe her daughters’ way into the University of Southern California as fake athletic recruits — has been crafting her defense with her lawyers ahead of the holiday season, Us Weekly reported.
“Lori has been meeting with her lawyers for days at a time,” a source told the magazine.
“It’s her full-time job and she is very involved with her defense. When not at her lawyer’s office, Lori is emailing and texting with the team,” the source added.
The outlet added that they’ve been conducting mock trials for preparation.
“Her lawyer plays the prosecutor, grilling her,” the source told the mag.
Loughlin, 54, and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, 55, were busted in March on wire fraud and money laundering charges. The couple were slapped with an additional conspiracy to commit bribery charges in October. They’ve each pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Another 19 parents were ensnared in the sprawling scandal, including “Desperate Housewives” star Felicity Huffman, who copped to the charges in May and served 11 days behind bars.
She admitted to paying $15,000 to the scheme’s mastermind, William “Rick” Singer, to inflate one of her daughter’s college admission test scores.
