Sam Darnold got a ribbing from his teammates about his Page Six debut, reports The Post’s Greg Joyce.
The Jets quarterback had his Sunday night out in Manhattan detailed in Tuesday’s paper: A spy told Page Six that Darnold was “wasted, hooking up with some girl” at a club before leaving at 12:30 a.m. as his teammates partied on.
“There were some jokes thrown out, but we’ll keep it between us,” Darnold said Wednesday.
The 22-year-old, who was sidelined earlier in the season by mono, said he wasn’t frustrated that his private life became public. “Everyone’s got a job to do,” Darnold said. “Stories are going to be made and people are going to say things that are true. Some people are going to say things that are untrue. For me, it’s about going back to work and continuing to control what I can,” he said.
“I think for me, it’s about having that tight group, the friends and the family, to be able to lean on. Obviously, I have really great teammates and great coaches, to be able to come in here and go right back to work.”
The team won their game Sunday, marking the squad’s first three-game winning streak since 2017. Darnold threw for two touchdowns and ran for another.
