Is Christmas Ruined? Baby Yoda Toys Won't Be Available Until 2020

November 26, 2019

The internet, after seeing gifs and images of Baby Yoda, flew into protective mode. This precious, adorable little creature stole the hearts of everyone, even those who probably haven't seen a single episode of The Mandalorian. Werner Herzog, who plays the Disney+ series' villain, wanted to protect this gentle, innocent baby at all costs and even Pedro Pascal isn't angry at Baby Yoda for outshining him or his titular character. After all, how can you be mad at Baby Yoda???

So excited was everyone for this big-eyed creature that they began wondering when the hell Disney would start releasing Baby Yoda products. After all, the studio is a master when it comes to merchandising. It was previously reported that there would be plenty of Baby Yoda products available in the weeks ahead of Christmas. In fact, Amazon already has a couple t-shirts with Baby Yoda's face all over them, but that's about it. The real bad news is this: There won't be ANY toys featuring the lovable creature this year. AT ALL. Let that sink in.

According to Vanity Fair, Hasbro confirmed that there would be no Baby Yoda toys available until 2020. So much for that promise. I was planning on getting some Baby Yoda swag myself, but all hopes are dashed. Christmas stockings will be empty. Now, all Star Wars fans will have to settle for other merchandise -- Rey, Finn, and Poe all have toys and products -- but none of them can compare to Baby Yoda at this point. Sorry. Fans are so obsessed with this green little baby that they've taken to buying plush dolls of ACTUAL Yoda at the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge theme park. Although the disappointment is TOO real, Christmas isn't yet ruined because Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters December 20. It's the little things.
