The Duggar family is still scrambling after federal agents raided a Duggar property, and fans are demanding answers.

On social media, Jeremy Vuolo just dropped a hint that he knows what this scandal is all about.

As we have reported, Jed Duggar and Anna Duggar are silencing fan questions amidst this growing scandal. But Jinger's husband is not.

"Are the Duggars being investigated for tax evasion?" asks one Instagram commenter on Jeremy Vuolo's Instagram.

Despite the person being called out by a Duggar fan for the impertinent question, the commenter stood their ground.

After all, Jeremy himself had "liked" the question.

Of course, Jeremy has not come right out and said anything on the subject.

We must acknowledge that a "like" on Instagram isn't necessarily meaningful in the sense of it being a hint or a clue.

It is always possible that Jeremy accidentally clicked the "like" heart. Most of us have done that at one point or another.

And even if he "liked" it deliberately, he may have just appreciated that the commenter chose one of the less "spicy" theories.

What do we mean by less "spicy" theories? Basically, tax evasion is easily one of the least interesting possibilities.

All that we know so far is that the Department of Homeland Security appears to be investigating at least one of the Duggars.

Homeland Security investigators look into things like human rights violations, immigration crime, human smuggling, and export enforcement issues.

Additionally, they investigate cybercrime, financial crimes, and the smuggling of weapons and other contraband.

That is quite a laundry list from which to choose items for speculation.

Given Josh's history -- as a sexual predator -- some people immediately wondered if Josh had somehow gotten involved in human trafficking.

Others wondered if the Duggars could, like Hobby Lobby, have been illegally buying cultural artifacts for biblical reasons and funding terrorists in the process.

And, obviously, Jim Bob and Michelle have violated the human rights of all of their children. Is their sinister cult under investigation?

However, as intriguing as those would be, they don't seem to be the most likely answers.

Some sort of financial crime, committed by a member of an insular religious cult who thinks that they're above society's laws, makes more sense.

Even so, the presence of federal agents seems to indicate that it's a big deal, and could change the Duggar family forever.

If we're very, very lucky, we could see Jim Bob and Michelle's downfall and their children could become free at last and start the long road to recovery.

"We were shocked to see a news report today state that our home was raided by federal law enforcement agencies," the Duggars said in an official statement.

"This is not true," they claimed, playing word games because the facility that was raided was not their house.

"To the best of our knowledge," the Duggars added. "It’s also not true that any member of our family is the target of any investigation of any kind."

"Living a life in the public’s eye has taught us that it is best not to reply to every rumor and piece of 'fake news' that is circulated online," they wrote.

We are of course excited to learn more -- and to see if there is any fallout if Jeremy Vuolo's apparent "hint" pans out.
