Chrishell Stause honors late parents with ‘Dancing with the Stars’ performance
Chrishell Stause paid tribute to her late parents on Monday’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars,” performing a contemporary routine set to “Stars” by Grace Potter & The Nocturnals.
The “Selling Sunset” star, 39, who lost her mother Ranae to lung cancer in July, opened up about her family life prior to the performance.
“They were really loving people. Some of my best memories are with my mom dancing with her in the living room,” Stause said, according to People. “It makes me a little sad because I would’ve loved to teach her a little cha-cha or something. She would’ve loved it.”
Stause added how she felt “emotionally connected” to “Stars” in the wake of her parents’ deaths. Her father Jeff also died of cancer in April 2019.
“It’s such a beautiful song. I’m so emotionally connected to it. It’s one of the songs that I listened to on repeat when I was dealing with the loss of my parents,” she said.
For Monday’s live performance, Stause and partner Gleb Savchenko received a total score of 24 out of 30 from the judges, their highest marks yet.
“You poured your heart and soul into your dancing,” judge Carrie Ann Inaba said. “I felt it. I think we all did.”
Stause and Savchenko earned enough votes to move forward in the competition, with former NFL star Vernon Davis and partner Peta Murgatroyd being eliminated Monday night.
“Dancing with the Stars” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
