Harvey Weinstein’s bail hiked to $2M bond weeks before sex assault trial

A judge Wednesday hiked Harvey Weinstein’s bail from $1 million cash to $2 million bond just weeks before his sex assault trial is slated to begin in Manhattan court.

The disgraced diabetic producer, whose lawyers said he’s getting back surgery this week, used a walker to shuffle into Manhattan Supreme Court.

The accused rapist was in court Wednesday to modify his bail conditions in light of the new bail reform laws that go into effect Jan. 6. Assistant DA Joan Illuzzi-Orbon also said that his ankle monitor had been untraceable at least 56 times in violation of the conditions of his release.

Justice James Burke set $2 million bond and in the alternative $5 million cash.

The new bail legislation signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo earlier this year bars defendants from paying for their own ankle monitors, and a judge can only court-order the device if it’s administered by a government or nonprofit.

The city doesn’t have a vendor yet who can provide this service and likely won’t for months, sources told The Post.

As a result, Weinstein’s ankle monitor can no longer be mandated by the court. However, the $2 million bond is being arranged by celebrity bondsman Ira Judelson, who is requiring that Weinstein wear the device.

The former powerhouse producer, who already turned over his passport, agreed not to apply for a new one.

Last Friday, prosecutors said that Weinstein had violated the condition of his release by not properly maintaining his ankle bracelet’s connection. He is a serious flight risk with unlimited resources at his disposal, Illuzzii-Orbon argued.

Weinstein wears a modified two-part monitor, which includes a slim ankle bracelet and a separate signaling component that records his location.

He was initially outfitted with the one-piece device but it was too bulky for his leg and aggravated his medical conditions.

Weinstein’s trial is slated to begin Jan. 6, and he faces up to life in prison. He’s charged with two counts of predatory sexual assault in connection to the alleged rape of “The Sopranos” actress Annabella Sciorra, 59, sometime between late 1993 and early 1994.

He’s also accused of forcibly performing oral sex on production assistant Mimi Haleyi in 2006 and raping another woman, who hasn’t bee publicly named, in 2013.
