Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were at the Texas jail where death row inmate Rodney Reed learned his execution had been stayed, the celebrity couple revealed on social media Friday.

“Today, I had the honor of meeting #RodneyReed in person and the privilege of sitting with him when he got the news that the highest court in Texas had issued a stay of execution and remanded the case back to the trial court for further consideration,” Kardashian tweeted Friday night.

Kanye, meanwhile, entertained and moved the inmates with a performance that was part rap concert, part revival meeting.

“I want Jesus to walk with me,” he sang at one point in a performance recorded for YouTube.

“I accept Jesus as my lord and savior,” he told them at another point, holding a large room of uniformed male and female inmates rapt.

Some broke into tears.

Reed’s stay of execution by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals was unanimous and gives the convicted murderer another 120 days of reprieve.
