Kelly Dodd was just as shocked as fans when it came to her quick engagement to Fox News correspondent Rick Leventhal.

“Yes, I was actually. Very shocked!” the “Real Housewives of Orange County” star told Page Six at BravoCon on Friday. “I mean, I knew it was going to happen because I picked out the ring but I didn’t know when. I thought it was Christmas. I didn’t know he was going to buy it. I just said, ‘I like that ring!'”

As for the sparkler, “It’s four carats and he got it here in New York. I don’t know much about it! I just saw what I liked! I just like that it sparkled.”

Dodd, 44, said she and Leventhal, 59, first went ring shopping the last time she was in New York “about three weeks ago.” He proposed last week, just three months after their relationship began in August. Their courtship happened so quickly that Dodd’s daughter, Jolie, 13, hasn’t met the newsman just yet.

“She hasn’t met Rick yet but she sees him on FaceTime,” Dodd explained. “So she’s met him, but she hasn’t properly met him.”

The reality star is already starting to plan the nuptials, telling us: “I wanna do Napa but he has a house in Miami or Del Ray or whatever … he’s doing his 60th there at the Wall in the W.”

But, don’t expect her to move to New York — where Leventhal is based — so quickly as she’s helping her daughter apply to local Orange County private high schools.

“I wish I could [move to New York],” she told us. “I feel like I’m always with Ramona [Singer] and Dorinda [Medley] and Sonja [Morgan] so I mean it would be a great transition. It would be kind of cool to have a job transfer! I fit right in!”
