Amid a former aide’s allegations of abusive behavior, Robert De Niro was all smiles as he helped the Rev. Al Sharpton celebrate his 65th birthday Thursday night at the New York Public Library.

“Me, Robert De Niro & Korey King Wise at my birthday,” Sharpton captioned a photo posted on his Facebook page with the “Raging Bull” star and one of the Central Park Five who were wrongfully accused and jailed in the 1989 rape of a jogger.

Earlier Thursday, De Niro was cited in a woman’s $12 million lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court that claims the 76-year-old actor routinely demeaned and abused her.

“Robert De Niro is someone who has clung to old mores. He does not accept the idea that men should treat women as equals,” Graham Chase Robinson’s complaint says.
