The future of Teresa and Joe Giudice‘s marriage appears up in the air.
During a Bravo special that aired Sunday night, Joe addressed the state of the couple’s marriage and possible future since he returned to his native Italy while awaiting a decision in his deportation case.
“If we stay together, we stay together, if we don’t, we don’t. We’ll see,” Joe told Andy Cohen via satellite from Italy.
“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa, who is set to visit Joe in Italy in the coming weeks with the couple’s four daughters, admitted that she is “nervous” about reuniting with her husband of 20 years. He went to prison for fraud in March 2016 after Teresa served her own sentence. He was released in March of this year.
“I haven’t seen Joe in three years and seven months, it’s going to be even longer, three years and eight months,” she said. “I’ve definitely changed and I think he has, too.”
Though the couple confronted one another over cheating rumors, Joe said he will “always love” Teresa “no matter what happens.”
“As long as she’s happy, all that’s really matters,” Joe said. “I’m not going to tell her what to.”
Teresa also expressed that she wants what’s best for Joe.
“I want the best for him, I want him to be successful,” she shared. “We have to take care of our daughters.”
Joe and Teresa, both 47, share daughters Gia, 18, Gabriella, 15, Milania, 14, and Audriana, 15.
The Giudice patriarch is currently awaiting a ruling in his deportation case.
The status of Teresa and Joe’s relationship appears to be a prominent plot point in the forthcoming season of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” which premieres on Bravo Wednesday, Nov. 6.
