Rooftop pool at lux Ravel Hotel to screen summer revelers by nasal swab

June 29, 2020

What do you get when you cross a nightclub with an urgent care clinic?

Profundo, the rooftop pool and lounge at the Ravel Hotel in Long Island City, is ensuring guests are safe by making would-be revelers take a rapid COVID test before entering.

“All of our tests will be administered by licensed physicians who will be wearing full PPE and following all standard medical policies and procedures,” its Web site said.

While the nasal swab is mandatory for entry, the hot spot’s also offering an optional antibody test.

The site explains that, “The process takes approximately 20 mins in total including paperwork, testing and results.”

We’re told the results don’t go through the venue, but only the medical professionals. Those who are negative are given a wristband to go into the sleek space, which is doing temperature checks as well.

Owner Seth Levine told us, “We want to create the safest possible experience in the country.” Guests will also have access to the restaurant, Perivoli, where we are told the chef, staff and security all get tested.
