Selena Gomez drops second new song, ‘Look at Her Now,’ about Justin Bieber

October 24, 2019

Selena Gomez first gave fans a breakup ballad and now she’s given them a bop.

The 27-year-old former surprised fans with a second single late Wednesday, titled “Look at Her Now,” which seems to tell the story of her growth since ending her relationship for good with Justin Bieber.

“It was her first real lover / His too ’til he had another / Oh God when she found out / Trust levels went way down,” Gomez sings in the pop bop.

She makes it clear that she’s relieved she’s moved on from the on-again, off-again relationship, singing, “Of course she was sad / But now she’s glad she dodged a bullet.”

“Took a few years / To soak up the tears / But look at her now / Watch her go,” Gomez sings.

The previous night, she released “Lose You to Love Me,” in which she appears to sing about hating 25-year-old Bieber.

Following the release of “Lose You to Love Me,” fans felt Bieber’s wife, Hailey Baldwin, threw shade at Gomez when she posted the song “I’ll Kill You” on her Instagram story. Baldwin later denied it was a jab at her husband’s ex.

Gomez eventually took to her Instagram Live to address her fans about being supportive of other women, and while she didn’t use Baldwin’s name, it seemed clear she was talking about the rumored internet feud.

“I am grateful for the response that the song is getting. I am so grateful. However, I do not stand for women tearing women down,” Gomez shared. “I will never, ever be by that. So please be kind to everyone.”

“It doesn’t matter what the situation is, if you’re my fans don’t be rude to anybody, please,” she continued. “Don’t go off and say things that you just feel in the moment.”

She added, “Please, for me, know that that’s not my heart. My heart is only to release things that I feel are me, and that I’m proud of.”
