Designer Diane von Furstenberg is perhaps lesser known for being the official “godmother” of the Statue of Liberty Museum.

DVF earned the title by raising $100 million for the newly renovated museum on Liberty Island — by selling each star on an Anh Duong-created American flag mural that graces its entrance for $2 million to pals such as Mike Bloomberg, Jeff Bezos and George Lucas.

At HBO’s premiere for its new doc “Liberty: Mother of Exiles,” the godmother was in the house along with directors Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato and HBO’s heads of documentary, Nancy Abraham and Lisa Heller.
