Actress Royana Black has passed away after a battle with leukemia, her family announced. She was 47 years old.
The sister of Black’s husband, John Hubbell, shared on a GoFundMe page that Black died “very suddenly” of acute myeloid leukemia on July 14.
“Royana’s incredible energy and spirit will be a part of our lives forever,” the GoFundMe reads.
At the age of 10, the actress starred on Broadway in the Neil Simon classic “Brighton Beach Memoirs,” playing Laurie alongside Matthew Broderick. She also appeared in the 1988 CBS sitcom “Raising Miranda.”
“Royana had an infectious smile and laugh which could light even the darkest of days,” her obituary reads. “She was a beautiful person inside and out. She was truly an angel on earth.”
The obituary also states that she ran a theater company in Los Angeles and had also worked as an administrative assistant at investment firm Houlihan Lokey.
