Watch the Original ‘Polaroid’ Short Film from the Director of This Year’s ‘Child’s Play’
Before he got behind the camera for the forthcoming reboot of Child’s Play, Lars Klevberg made his feature directorial debut with Polaroid, a supernatural horror film that’s currently tied up in the Weinstein Company/Lantern’s legal woes.
Since it may be a while before we see his feature film adaptation, Klevberg has uploaded the original Norwegian short film that begins when two girls (Annika Witt and Thea Sofie Loch Næss) move out after the passing of Sarah’s mother (Anne Cloetta). In the clearing, they find an old Polaroid camera possessed by a dark past.
The film was executive produced by Trollhunter director André Øvredal, who will see his adaptation of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark released this year through CBS Films.
This 16-minute long short offers a lesson to aspiring filmmakers as to what it takes to get the attention of big-time Hollywood producers; in this particular case, Vertigo Entertainment (IT, The Ring, Godzilla).
