Universal Pictures has provided Bloody Disgusting the first ever clip from Happy Death Day 2U, in which our hero Tree Gelbman (Jessica Rothe) discovers that dying over and over was surprisingly easier than the dangers that lie ahead.

Having not seen the movie yet, it’s unclear just how big of a spoiler follows, but it’s one that reared its head in the massive batch of images I shared last week and is also teased within the film’s trailers.  Much like Blumhouse’s US, there are also doppelgangers in Happy Death Day 2U.

In this clip, Phi Vu‘s character is attacked by Babyface, only to be saved by Tree. Going full “Scooby-Doo”, they remove his mask and cut to black. If you look closely, you can see that his attacker appears to be none other than himself. This adds an entirely new layer of insanity to this cupcake and I can’t wait to see how this unfolds on February 13th.

Jason Blum once again produces and Christopher Landon returns to write and direct this next chapter, while Happy Death Day executive producers Angela Mancuso and John Baldecchi are newly joined by EP Samson Mucke (Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse).
