The CW Just Handed Out Renewals to Both “Supernatural” and “Charmed”

February 01, 2019

With its fourteenth season currently chugging along, “Supernatural” continues to be the show that’ll probably never end, as we’ve learned tonight out of the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour that The CW has renewed the Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles-starring series for a FIFTEENTH season.

The CW also announced tonight that the reboot of “Charmed” will return for a second season, with a second season of “Vampire Diaries” spinoff “Legacies” also ordered up.

“Arrow,” Black Lightning,” “Legends of Tomorrow,” “Dynasty,” “The Flash,” Riverdale” and “Supergirl” were also renewed.

This season, we expanded our primetime schedule to six nights with the addition of Sunday — which has been an unqualified success for the network, our affiliates and our advertisers. In addition to growing our schedule across the week, we also continue to add more year-round programming. The early renewal of these signature CW series gives us a head start on laying out the 2019-2020 season, and this is just the beginning,” CW president Mark Pedowitz said. “These shows provide a strong foundation for our multiplatform programming strategy, and we look forward to building on this with even more returning and new shows as we approach the May upfront.”
