New ‘World War Z’ Game Trailer Warns Us the Zombies Are Coming (and the Pre-Orders Are Here)

February 26, 2019

It’s just under two months now until Saber Interactive’s co-op zombie shooter World War Z hits PC and consoles, and pre-orders have gone up for it alongside a new trailer.

The trailer, backed by the song ‘BOOM’ by nu-metal band P.O.D. (whose album I still inexplicably own), is effectively a 90-second warning that the game’s undead are coming and they are fast, large in number, and generally here to mess up your day. This warning is backed up by the suggestion that you might want to pre-order for some additional weapons to help ‘outlive the horde’.

The game is looking pretty interesting, but it’ll have to do something special to stand out among the horde of co-op shooters on the market. It’ll at least need to be getting off to a better start than Overkill’s The Walking Dead.

I’m off to pop P.O.D. on the stereo.

World War Z is out April 16 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
