Clips from Never-Seen “Tremors” Pilot Starring Kevin Bacon Will Screen at the ATX Television Festival!

February 15, 2019

Last year, we were hit with a double dose of real bad news on the horror TV front, with “Ash vs. Evil Dead” being cancelled by Starz after three seasons and Syfy pulling the plug on “Tremors” before it even got off the ground. The Kevin Bacon-starring small screen reboot of the franchise filmed its pilot in 2017, but was not ordered to series.

Vincenzo Natali (Splice) was the director of the pilot episode, and all we’ve seen to date was the trailer for that planned premiere episode of the scrapped Syfy series.

The series was set to pick up 25 years after the killer Graboid worms nearly destroyed the Nevada town of Perfection.

Bacon was to again play Valentine McKee, who beat the sandworms once and would attempt to do it again; but first he’d have to deal with age, alcohol and a delusional hero complex.

As reported by Indiewire today, the failed “Tremors” project will have a presence at this year’s ATX Television Festival with a panel that will include “a selection of clips, a live script reading, and conversations with executive producers and cast, including Andrew Miller, Jessica Rhoades, Toks Olagundoye, P.J. Byrne, and Haley Tju.”

According to the site, however, the complete episode will not be shown.

The ATX Television Festival runs June 6-9, 2019 in Austin, Texas.
